Coatings vs. PPF: Which one is best for you?

XPEL Fusion Premium ceramic coating is a formulated chemical that once applied to your paint, forms a molecular bond to your clear coat and acts as an outermost protective layer. This layer is engineered to repel surface contaminants and to make washing your paint easier as dirt and contaminants become easier to remove. It is also a 9H hardness coating, making it a preferable coating to its competitors for its scratch resistant properties.
Where should I apply ceramic coat and where should I apply PPF?
PPF is a physical clear film, it is thick and durable and is designed to protect your paint from anything that makes direct contact. Gravel from cars ahead, your shoes stepping in, hockey bags in the boot, bumper taps or “trading paint”, all of these are areas PPF can protect that a coating can not.
If applying both PPF and ceramic coating it is important to know that PPF can not be applied over ceramic-coated paint. XPEL Fusion is engineered to be compatible with XPEL Ultimate Plus PPF after it is installed.
Ceramic coating can be thought of as car wax engineered by NASA. For those who enjoy a clean car, coatings make your life easier. It eases washing and the removal of dirt and contaminants like stubborn bugs, brake dust, bird droppings and caked on mud.

Step 1: Paint Correction / Polish
For this, we can give an estimate based on provided information and photos in advance, but to accurately quote a correction means to see the paint in person properly. Consumers are often surprised that even brand new cars need extensive preparation prior to coating applications. Many of these vehicles travel thousands of kilometers by truck or boat, often exposed to contaminants in open air. Improper washing practices can also introduce small scratches needing removal also. With our combined 15+ years of experience, we assess, communicate and then proceed with paint correction. We invite you to stop by our facility and see what we’re about.
Step 2: Coating
Fusion Lite (4 year w/ warranty)
XPEL’s comprehensive coating. 4 year manufacturer backed protection against fading, loss of gloss, oxidization and colour fading.
Fusion Satin (4 year w/ warranty)
Vehicles with factory satin finish paint or converted to satin using XPEL Stealth PPF can enjoy purpose built coverage using Fusion Satin. This coating has the same benefits of Fusion Lite.
Fusion Glass
(2 year w/ warranty)
Improves visibility in harsh Canadian conditions like rain and snow, repels water and makes cleaning and maintenance easier (just think of the bugs!)
Fusion Plastic and Trim
(1 year w/ warranty)
Protects and maintains unpainted exterior plastic trim against fading from the sun (show graphic of faded trim and coated trim)
Fusion Wheel and Caliper
(3 year w/ warranty)
Makes cleaning stubborn brake dust a breeze!
Fusion Upholstry
(2 year w/ warranty)
